How do I find Collaborate session links and recordings?

Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing tool with live chat, audio and video that allows you to interact with your Learning Facilitator and peers in real-time. Classes that are run online are hosted in Collaborate therefore it's important that you familiarize yourself with this tool before your session begins. 

The recommended browser for Collaborate Ultra is Google Chrome. The recommended web browser for Blackboard is Mozilla Firefox.  A strong, stable, internet connection is required to view any session online. 

Live Sessions 

To locate Collaborate session links navigate to the relevant subject and from the left-hand navigation menu click Collaborate Ultra Web Conferencing 

Once you click on Collaborate Ultra you will see the Sessions dashboard. This is where any upcoming or current live sessions will be displayed. The live sessions will have ‘in progress’ which indicates you are able to join the session. If you are too early the session will say 'not yet started'.

To join the Collaborate session, click on the session link that is in progress.

 

Recorded Sessions 

 

If you missed a 'live' session follow these steps to locate the recording.

Within the subject rather than clicking into the Sessions dashboard select the Recordings dashboard. To locate the recordings dashboard click open the menu.

 

This will bring up all the recent recordings if there are any for the subject.

To view the recording, click on the relevant recording then select ‘Watch now’.

**Please note**

Learning Facilitator may share the 'Live' sessions or 'Recording' links via ‘Announcements’ or via a Discussion Board post. Please keep up to date  with all the communication from your Learning Facilitator. If you are not able to locate the ‘Collaborate Session link’, or the Recordings, please contact your Learning Facilitator via ‘My Class Message’.

To use ‘My class Messages’ navigate to the subject where you want to contact your Learning Facilitator and from the left-hand menu select ‘My class Messages’.  For more information on using ‘My Class Messages’ CLICK HERE.

 

If you experience a purple spinning wheel   error when trying to access Collaborate Ultra please read the below.

 In order for Collaborate Ultra to work, your browser must enable 3rd party cookies

Google Chrome web browser is the preferred browser for Collaborate Ultra  if you have not already been using Chrome you will need to allow 3rd party cookies. Mozilla Firefox is the alternative web browser.
