Service Disruption for Library Search Catalogue
There will be a service disruption to the Library’s catalogue on Saturday 16 August 2025 between the hours of 1pm and 8pm (AEST time).
The outage will affect the Library catalogue search and item availability – including some of the resources which are linked within the MyLearn subject modules.
When will the outage occur?
The Library catalogue will be unavailable on Saturday 16 August 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM (AEST).
Why is this happening?
OCLC, the global service provider for our library systems, is conducting worldwide planned maintenance. This timing is beyond the University’s control and will affect libraries internationally.
What services will be affected?
During the outage:
- Library catalogue search will be unavailable.
- Item availability information (whether a book or resource is available) will not be accessible.
- Some MyLearn reading links may not work.
How will this affect students and staff?
-
Students may experience difficulties accessing some resources needed for assessments.
-
Staff and students will not be able to search the catalogue or check availability of items.
-
MyLearn modules containing older EZproxy-linked resources may have broken links during the outage.
How can I access resources during the outage?
You can still:
What should I do to prepare?
-
Access and download resources before 1:00 PM on 16 August if possible.
-
Plan your research outside the outage window.
-
Keep copies of essential readings or references you may need during the downtime.
What if I can’t complete my work because of the outage?
-
Students should discuss the situation with their Learning Facilitator.
-
The University’s assessment extension process can be used if the outage impacts your ability to complete work on time.
-
Learning Facilitators should not disadvantage or penalise students affected by this disruption.
